CHARLESTON, S.C.—In this tough economy, Lowcountry entrepreneurs, businesses and organizations have a unique new option when it comes to networking and getting exposure for their goods and services, The Lowcountry Business Network. The Lowcountry Business Network is the only network in Charleston that takes traditional face-to-face business networking and combines it with the power of social media marketing in a simple, easy to use platform. This innovative new approach will help businesses enhance their existing relationships and develop new relationships, expand their network, create strategic alliances and find leads. The Lowcountry Business Network launched in Charleston and online on August 17th, 2010.
The new networking organization will have an Internet portal to connect like-minded professionals and people that compliment your industry. The Lowcountry Business Network concept was created by Ellen Stebbins and Glenn Sojourner.
Ellen Stebbins is the founder of EllenStebbins.com, a web-based business that empowers men and women to reach their full potential through personal development, income diversification and social media.
Her background includes eleven years as a Certified Financial Planner and Assistant Vice President with Merrill Lynch in Boston. She is an accomplished social media expert and strategist, a Certified Life Coach as well as an independent business owner of the fastest growing all-natural health product in the world, Qivana.
In 2009, she launched her acclaimed online course Facebook and Twitter Marketing Made Simple to give entrepreneurs an understanding of why social media is critical to business success and to provide individuals with strategies to position themselves as an expert in their respective field.
Ellen donates her time to various charitable organizations and currently serves as the President of East Cooper Entrepreneurial Women (www.ecewsc.com), a non-profit organization serving professional women throughout the Charleston, SC community.
Glenn Sojourner begin was raised in Charleston and though pulled away a few times always returned to Charleston his home. Upon his graduation from The Citadel, Glenn entered the US Army as a second lieutenant and served at Ft. Knox, KY and Ft. Bragg, NC.
After serving as a company commander, he left the service and began his career as a management consultant. In his career Glenn has worked with a wide assortment of industries from oil and gas, automotive, aerospace, plastics and chemicals in locations throughout the United States and Canada. His efforts resulted millions of dollars of savings for clients through implementation of process improvements and management systems best practices. His focus has always been to add value to the clients' practices rather than adding work.
He has worked with several local businesses to implement an online strategy to integrate their web properties into a real marketing tools.
